Alan Rorrison - Band

Who else needs more real world magic to add to their armory?

A PRACTICAL IMPROMPTU RUBBER BAND TRICK ANYONE CAN DO!

You just use a rubber band and a playing card. Right in front of their eyes, at the fingertips, the folded card melts through the band and becomes locked inside the loop! Everything is shown super clean and fair. Then, right when your spectators are watching SO CLOSELY, the band appears to visually melt off the card, yet is totally intact. This trick is warping spectators minds around the world!

Band is very easy to perform. Alan takes you through everything you need to know. Each detail is explained including all the little tips and subtle points which make this so strong for spectators.

You just need a rubber band and a playing card! If you are table hopping, we recommend using your business card instead of a playing card. You leave everything with the spectator at the end. A great way to hand out your business card to every group you perform to!

If you plan to perform BAND on the streets or in a bar setting, you can also use a bank note. Alan discusses this in the instructional video, so you learn when and where this would work best.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

I'm a complete beginner, is this OK for me?
Band is very easy to do and would be a perfect effect to learn if you are new to magic, it uses everyday objects, and is very visual, so if you are showing this to family and friends, it's not going to look like you have pulled out a load of magicians props. It's the sort of trick that you can do anywhere, and will amaze everyone in the group you show it to.

I already do a crazy mans handcuff's routine, will this fit in?
It's a perfect ending for it! You probably give the bands out to the spectator at the end of your band routine. Hand out one of the bands, then before you give them the second one, pull out your card, and show that it works on your card too. Once you freak them out, hand them the final band and your card.

Will I have to make a gimmick?
Nope, you set up in seconds, and there is not cutting, glue or tape to fiddle with. Once you learn this trick, it's with you FOREVER!

How was this trick developed?
The routine in Band was inspired by Mislead, then Misleading Mislead, the development was also influenced by Phanton Band. The original concept is credited to Roy Baker in 1972 and later explored by Vince Mendoza and also by Vinny Marini in 'Busting Loose.'
